A player presented with HackMorse.exe. Note the arrows to be able to switch letters, and the orange light indicating the lamp is on.
Morse code is a telecommunications system which encodes texts into two simple signals, seperated by pauses: a long signal, also known as a dash (-), and a shorter signal, known as a dot (.). Morse code is still used daily for certain signals in ships, or to transmit emergency signals. This is due to their excellent ability to be transmitted without a lot of bandwith.

This hack requires the player to be able to decipher morse code to spell out a random word. The hack consists of a lamp which turns off and on. It also consists of multiple letters depending on the hacks difficulty, each letter may be cycled by pressing the arrow button, up to 8 different letters per slot. There is a submit button that should be pressed once the player thinks that the right combination is entered.

This is the type of sigals that the player might receive:

SignalMeaning
Green lightMarks the beginning of the transmission. When you see the green light, you know the signal is at the first letter. Also shown at the start.
Long pauseA longer than normal pause indicates the cycle is going to the next letter. When you see this, the transmission for the previous letter has ended and a new one is about to start.
Orange light (short)When the orange light shortly turns on, this indicates a dot.
Orange light (long)When the orange light stays on longer than usual, this indicates a dash.
